If you’ve only had the chance to use Time Compression Expansion plug-in from Pro Tools 6 then you need to get Elastic Time that was introduced in Pro Tools 7. This alone is well worth the upgrade.

The old Time Compression plug-in was very limited and could not take you very far when changing keys or shortening or lengthening audio files without creating some weird worbling sounds and other glitches.

With Elastic Time you can have your way with audio files by bending, twisting, and stretching them to any speed or key change without adding weird sounding artifacts to them.

Plus many other not so drastic changes as well like creating cool beats, remix vocals, and polish your tracks by tightening them up. After using Elastic Time once you’ll never be able to do with out it…guaranteed.
